A quiet, private reader for your own EPUB books

Your library

• Import EPUB files from the Files app, several at once, or with “Open in Leforio”. EPUB books kept as folders, as Apple Books stores them, are imported too.
• Covers, titles and authors, Continue Reading and your progress in each book.
• The same book is recognised and not added twice. A file that is not a readable EPUB is refused with a clear message, without losing the others.
• A short sample book is included, so you can try Leforio before importing your own.

Reading

• Turn pages with a tap at the edge or a swipe, or scroll vertically.
• Four themes: White, Paper, Sepia and Dark.
• Verdana, Georgia, Palatino, the system font or the book’s own, remembered for each book. Text size, line spacing, margins, alignment and hyphenation are yours to set.
• Easy mode: larger, airy, left-aligned text with only the essential settings, and your own setup back with one tap.
• Contents, bookmarks and full-text search. Footnotes open in place, over the passage.
• Swipe up or down on the page to change brightness; your brightness is restored when you leave the book.

Highlights and notes

Highlight a passage in a colour, add a note, search your highlights and notes, and export them as a Markdown file through the system share sheet.

Look up, translate, listen

Select a word or a passage to look it up in the system dictionary, translate it with Apple’s Translation, or listen to it in a voice installed on your device. If you prefer, you can open the passage in Google Translate instead; Leforio tells you first that the selected text goes to Google. The privacy policy says exactly what leaves your device in each case.

Private by design

• No account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
• Leforio never sends your books, reading positions, notes or selected text to Eleli LLC. A book cannot make Leforio contact a server: web content inside books is blocked.
• Optional iCloud Sync, off until you turn it on, keeps your library on your iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, in your own private iCloud database. Leforio works the same without it.

Leforio does not open DRM-protected books or formats other than EPUB.

Leforio’s interface is in English, Russian, German, Ukrainian and Spanish.
